Around Acres of Hope, we call our volunteer team, Team GRIT, because working around a ranch is hard work.

Each member of our team inspires us with how they are Generous, Resilient, take Initiative, and have Tenacity.

Team GRIT breathes life into our missions, keeps the ranch operating seamlessly, and is what gives Acres of Hope a sense of community.

FAQs

How old do I have to be to volunteer?

Acres of Hope accepts volunteers of all ages. However, volunteers under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a trained Team GRIT volunteer, typically their parent or guardian or another volunteer at AOH.

What do I have to do to become a volunteer?

Simply apply! Then we will run a background check for all adult volunteers, provided by AOH. After that, we will train and onboard you!

What times and days can I volunteer?

Volunteer opportunities are available Monday through Saturday, 8am to 8pm each day. Volunteer opportunities are available year round, no matter the weather.

What experience is needed?

Horse experience is NOT required!

We are happy to start teaching you at whatever level of horse knowledge you are at.

How flexible are volunteer schedules?

Flexible and routine schedules are both supported! Many volunteers return weekly, some biweekly, and some monthly. Some volunteers volunteer a couple times a year at our big events or when they have a free day!
